Aata Arrambam

Aata Arrambam

In the recent times have you seen a film which runs its entire length without having any commercial elements like stupendous introduction, item songs or exotic locations? When was the last time you watched something which ran just on the base of a strong story and superb screenplay? If you want to get a taste of such good elements of film-making, the Tamil dubbed Telugu movie Aata Aarambham, starring Ajith and Nayantra is a must watch.

Full credit to the director Vishnuvardhan for  an amazing plot and a good concept. The story runs on regular elements of revenge and corruption in our system and depicts the struggle of a friend seeking vengeance. Vishnuvardhan’s stylish take is heavily portrayed in the entire filming. He deserves accolades and much more.

Tapsee is a new entry onto the bandwagon and has a limited role in the movie. Rana Daggubati plays a cameo as an army officer and is a good fit for the role of the Police officer. The first half of the movie is a delight to watch. It’s a proper action thriller flick and the screenplay is amazing. An overall stunner in terms of performance, Ajith runs the show with elegance.

Arya and Nayanatara support the script but are totally overshadowed by the brilliance of Ajith. The background music by Yuvan Shankar Raja is very effective and helps sustain the interest in the flow of the movie.

The second half has its flaws as the movie turns superficial but yet it garners enough mileage to predict the climax. Shot entirely abroad, the second half is expensively shot and has few good chase sequences.

The nexus between the police department and the politicians is well established. It is yet another movie which signifies the 26/11 massacre and does mention the  Nariman Point attack.

It’s a perfect action thriller genre and for viewers who prefer this genre, this movie stands as a feast especially the first half. However it will disappoint viewers of the romance or the comedy genre.

The movie in the original Tamil version was a blockbuster. It might not have a dream run at the box-office in the Tollywood market, but it is definitely an entertainment watch for movie buffs.
