New Delhi: The GMR Group is organising its second webinar on Reposing the Faith In Flying’ on July 2, 2020. This is part of the Group’s continued effort to clear doubts and  confusions over air travel among people and provide them information about all aspects of air travel.

Mr. Arvind Singh, Chairman, Airports Authority of India (AAI), and Dr. Shefali Juneja, India Representative in International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) are among the prominent panelists who will discuss “Unlocking International Travel.” The other prominent speakers of the second edition of the GMR hosted webinar are Mr. Amitabh Khosla, Country Director-India, International Air Transport Association (IATA), Mr. Rohit Khosla, Executive Vice President IHCL, IHCL Regional Office North, East and West and Mr. SGK Kishore, ED South and Chief Innovation Officer, GMR Group.

The speakers will respond to queries of attendees.

The webinar will be a platform to discuss and explore horizons of policy dynamics, challenges, steps taken by the aviation fraternity in reposing faith in flying and building confidence among flyers.

After resumption of domestic flight operations in India, international air travel is also expected to resume soon. Aviation industry is witnessing unprecedented crisis due to this COVID-19 pandemic. The recovery from this crisis can happen only by restoring public confidence in the safety of flying. The international air travel can give a much needed boost to the revival of the industry and also the economies. The webinar will help in dispelling confusion and providing correct information to flyers on the international air travel with new protocols, practices and norms,” said a GMR spokesperson.

Domestic commercial flights operations resumed in India on May 25, 2020, after remaining suspended for two months, following nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The two-month disruption due to COVID-19 has caused unprecedented financial loss to the aviation sector as a whole. India’s civil aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), has the extended ban on international flight operations till July 15, 2020.
