Mumbai: Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt kicked off the week by resuming shoot for the action-adventure film titled ‘Shamshera’ which is being directed by Karan Malhotra. Amid so many speculations about his health and chosen course of treatment, Sanju Baba bounced back to work on Monday.

A source close to Sanjay Dutt informed media about the actor’s news of stepping back on to work and said, “The film has been stuck following the six-month coronavirus-induced lockdown and Sanjay did not want to delay it further. So, even though he is currently undergoing treatment, he reported at a city studio on Monday, taking all the necessary precautions and following SOPs while on the set.”

Produced by Aditya Chopra under the banner of Yash Raj Films, Shamshera also stars Ranbir Kapoor and Vaani Kapoor. The project is a period film set in the 19th century and the story is about a tribe fighting against the British for their rights and independence.

Earlier on August 11, the 61-year-old, Sanjay Dutt revealed that he has been diagnosed with lung cancer and will be taking a short break from work for medical treatment. He has been doing rounds of two hospitals in Mumbai, Lilavati and Kokilaben.

Dutt has also gone several tests and reportedly have started chemotherapy sessions too. Meanwhile, he has been granted a five-year visa to the US and is consulting with city doctors on the best course of treatment in the midst of an ongoing pandemic.

Sanjay Dutt’s wife Maanayata Dutt on Tuesday took to Instagram to share a picture of husband Sanjay and wrote an inspiration note to go with it.

Maanayata said: “Rukk jaana nahin tu kahin haarke….kaanto pe chalke milenge saaye Bahar ke (these are opening lines a popular Hindi film song which talks about staying motivated through struggle to emerge victorious at the end)!! We have to fight through some bad days to earn the best days of our lives!! Never quit!! #inspiration #courage #strength #love #grace #positivity #dutts #challenging Yet #beautifullife #thankyougod.”
