Hyderabad: As the Telangana Assembly polls approach, it is important for the residents of Hyderabad and other districts to know the assets of MLAs of various political parties including All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM).
A report by Telangana Election Watch and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) which was released after analysing the self-sworn affidavits of all MLAs who were elected in the Telangana Assembly polls 2018 revealed that the average assets of AIMIM MLAs increased by over 42 percent between 2014 and 2018.
As per the report, the average assets of seven AIMIM MLAs was 7,63,34,626 in 2014 which increased to 10,84,03,096 in 2018. Not only AIMIM MLAs but public representatives from other political parties too saw a rise in their average assets.
Average assets of re-elected MLAs of AIMIM, other parties
Among the various political parties in Telangana, BJP MLAs’ average assets jumped the highest. The average assets of BJP MLAs in 2014 was 9 lakh which increased to three crores in 2018 i.e., it jumped by 3376.08 percent.
In the case of TRS, the average assets of MLAs increased by 77.85 percent. Following are the party wise rise in average assets of re-elected MLAs.

Telangana Assembly polls
The upcoming assembly polls in Telangana for 119 constituency seats are scheduled to take place at the end of this year.
In the 2018 Telangana assembly polls, the main parties involved were the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS), the Indian National Congress (INC), and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
After the results of the 2018 assembly polls, the TRS, now known as the BRS, formed the government after securing victory in 88 out of the 119 seats, marking a significant increase in its seat share by 25.
On the other hand, the INC’s seat share decreased from 21 to 19, while all seven AIMIM MLAs managed to win their seats.

Despite the BJP’s efforts to form a government, the party was able to secure a single seat. Raja Singh won the Goshamahal Assembly constituency seat. The party’s seat share dropped from five to one.
