BJP dares HYDRA to demolish buildings belonging to Akbaruddin Owaisi

Hyderabad Desk

Hyderabad: The Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has termed the Congress government’s initiative to clear encroachments as a “high drama,” challenging the government to demolish buildings allegedly constructed by AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi on Salkam Cheruvu in the Bandlaguda area.

BJP Legislative Party leader A. Maheshwar Reddy, speaking to media persons, accused the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRA) of selectively demolishing structures. He questioned why the agency and the government are targeting only a few individuals and common citizens. “If you have the guts, demolish the illegal structures of Owaisi. There are hundreds of illegal structures in the Old City; why is the government not demolishing them?” he asked.

Criticizing the Congress government, Maheshwar Reddy demanded to know why no action had been taken against MLA Danam Nagender, against whom HYDRA had registered a case. “It seems like the case against Nagender was just a drama. This government is not serious about removing encroachments,” he alleged.

Meanwhile, the State BJP’s ‘X’ handle tweeted ‘Google images’ of what it claimed to be encroachments on Salkam Cheruvu. “From what was possibly agricultural land in 2012 to Fatima Owaisi Women’s College in 2024. Fun Fact: Fatima Owaisi is the daughter of AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi. Can the HYDRA or the Revanth government dare to take action?” it asked.
