‘Cook on Road’ protest against petrol, diesel and LPG gas price rise

Hyderabad: Congress Party had staged a ‘Cook on Road’ protest against the steep increase in Petrol, Diesel and LPG gas prices.  The party activists resorted to sloganeering against the Central Government.

The protesters cooked the food on woods on road to highlight the difficulties of the common man.

Speakaing to the media, the Congress leaders said the prices of the LPG gas is increasing daily.  A Rs.25 increase was made recently for the cooking gas.  The total increase in a week is beyond the capacity of a common man. The Central Government had increased the cooking gas price by Rs.50 while the LPG prices were the lowest under the  UPA govenment.

The Congress leader alleged that the Narendra Modi Government is pro-corporate and not keeping its promises made to the poor people before coming to the power. They demanded the Central Government to roll back the fuel prices and warned that they would intensify their stir throughout Telangana state if the government failed to on their demand.

There was a disruption in the traffic movement at Nampally due to this protest.

The Congress leaders leading the protest were TPCC General Secretary  Uzma Shakir, Secretary B Jedson, Minority leaders Zubair Hussain, Siraj Khan, Yusuf Danish, Sultan Mirza and others.
