Hyderabad: The government of Telangana has awarded the prestigious Telangana Shourya Pathakam to a firefighter for an act of exceptional bravery on the occasion of New Year 2026. The award recognizes courage and devotion to duty.
Mohammad Shabbir who is a Leading Fire Fighter stationed at Chandrayangutta is the recipient. He was honoured for his actions during a severe fire incident last year.
The event occurred on May 18, 2025 at a residential building in Mailardevpally. Responding to the emergency, Shabbir displayed presence of mind and courage. He entered the fire-affected premises despite intense flames and dense smoke.
Due to his brave efforts, 50 trapped inmates were successfully rescued.
The award medal was formally presented to Mohammad Shabbir by T. Venkanna, the District Fire Officer for Hyderabad.
