Four held for drug peddling in Hyderabad, contraband worth Rs 3L seized

Hyderabad: A group of four people including a woman was held for drug peddling and consumption in Hyderabad. Drugs including ganja, MDMA worth Rs 3,21,000 were seized from the accused.

The accused were identified as Ummidi Immanuel, 25, an event manager in Hyderabad and a native of of Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh; Chodavarapu. Susmitha Devi, 21, a software engineer and a native of Andhra Pradesh; Gorla Sai Kumar,28 , a bike taxi driver and a food delivery agent and native of AP and Talabattula Taraka Laxmikanth Ayyappa, 28 a private employee and resident of Chikkadpally.

According to the police, Immanuel was staying at Kondapur, he discontinued his education due to financial issues and worked as an event manager. He and Susmitha were in a live-in relationship. Immanuel was addicted to drugs, he gradually became a drug peddler.

He was involved in multiple NDPS and criminal cases across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. He procured contraband drugs such as Weed, MDMA, LSD blots, and ecstasy pills through absconding suppliers, and later via Dark Web marketplaces using Tor Browser.

Payments were made through Binance and Trust Wallet by converting INR into USDT cryptocurrency. Drugs were delivered through courier services like DTDC and Indian Post to the peddler by absconding suppliers.

Devi is a BSc graduate and was employed at Cognizant in Hyderabad. Despite being aware of Immanuel’s involvement in drug peddling, she managed his financial transactions. Devi also received payments for drugs in her bank account.

She sold the drugs in Hyderabad through sub peddler Sai Kumar. Kumar, worked as a food delivery agent and a bike taxi driver , earning Rs 15,000-20,000 per month.

He is a drug consumer who received drugs from Immanuel. Kumar also delivered drugs to other consumers based on instructions from Susmitha and Immanuel. After being alerted the Hyderabad Narcotics Enforcement Wing arrested the accused along with Ayyappa from Chikadpally.

An Investigation revealed that the Imanuel and Susmitha used to purchase the drugs from suppliers, who are absconding. They later purchased drugs through dark web. The police seized five grams of Hydroponic Ganja, 22grams , six LSD blots, 5.5 grams of ecstasy pills, cash worth Rs 50,000 and four mobile phones from them.

They were booked under sections 8(c) r/w 20(b)(ii)(A), 22(C), 27(A), 29, 27(a)(b) NDPS Act of Chikkadpally Police.
