Hyderabad: Three members will be co-opted into the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation soon. The co-opted members will have status equal to that of elected corporators.
GHMC has invited applications from aspirants having special knowledge or experience in municipal administration for co-option members.
Three eligible applicants, one of whom will be a woman and will be selected by the corporators and ex officio members of the corporation by a voice vote at a special meeting to be held for this purpose.
Eligibility: No person can be co-opted as a member of the corporation unless he or she is a registered voter in the electoral rolls of the corporation and aged not less than 24 years.
A person who has held the office of a chairperson/ mayor, vice-chairman/ deputy mayor, or member of a municipality/ municipal corporation or a combination of these offices for a total period of not less than five years.
Interested candidates may apply with documents including the latest electoral extract, experience certificate, service/retirement certificate to the Commissioner, GHMC Head Office, 1st floor, Tank Bund Road, Hyderabad on all working days from March 30 to April 19 between 11 am to 3 pm.
