Hyderabad: The Hanuman Jayanti procession began from Ram Mandir in Gowliguda around noon on Thursday, April 2.
Before the start of the procession, the Commissioner of Hyderabad City Police, V C Sajjanar, attended the pooja ceremony at the Ram Mandir.
At 10 am, another procession began from Karmanghat. It will merge with the main procession near Andhra Bank.
Security for Hanuman Jayanti Procession 2026 in Hyderabad
In order to ensure security during the procession, around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed.
Along the 13-kilometre route of the main procession, several smaller rallies are expected to join.
The event will conclude in the evening with a public meeting at Tadbun in Secunderabad.
To minimise public inconvenience, traffic diversions will be set in advance, and citizens are requested to cooperate with police instructions.
The public is cautioned against believing or spreading social media rumours, as strict action will be taken against those posting misleading content.
Wine shops, bars remain closed
Meanwhile, in view of Hanuman Jayanti, the Cyberabad police have ordered the closure of wine shops, toddy shops, and bars attached to restaurants from 10 am to 10 pm on Thursday, April 2.
The decision has been taken under the provisions of the Telangana State Excise Act, 1968.
