Heera Gold scam accused Nowhera Shaik booked for impersonating SFO

Hyderabad: Navi Mumbai police has registered an FIR against Heera Gold scam accused Nowhera Shaik of allegedly impersonating Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO).

SFIO alleged that Nowhera Shaikh and her employee were displaying the poster of the investigating agency at their office located at CBD Belapur.

In the complaint, SFIO alleged that Nowhera and her employees were trying to create an image that the agency is operating from the premises.

The FIR has been booked based on the images and videos that were sent by one of the investors of Heera Gold Group.

Cases against Nowhera Shaikh, Heera Gold group

Several investigating agencies including Enforcement Directorate and SFIO are investigating cases against both Nowhera Shaikh and her company.

They are facing allegations of duping the investors by luring them to invest in gold schemes.

Three percent of investors file claims

Earlier, SFIO had issued notices to investors of Heera Group of companies asking them to file their claims if they want their money back. The notice was issued based on the Supreme Court’s order.

Recently, responding to the notice issued by SFIO, only 6023 investors out of a total of 1.72 lakh sought their money back. They claimed Rs. 317 crores.
