Hyderabad: In the latest development in Hyderabad advocate Khaja Moizuddin’s murder, one of the accused was reportedly paid Rs 10 lakh to buy a second-hand car and to track his movements.
Moizuddin was rammed by an SUV outside his residence on May 23 as he was getting into his car and subsequently died while undergoing treatment.
According to reports, the accused, identified as Vinay, and his associates tracked Moizuddin’s movements for six months. The accused had reportedly fled to Nagarkurnool after committing the offence and was arrested on Sunday, May 24.
Speaking to Siasat.com, Abids Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) P Praveen Kumar confirmed the name of the accused. However, he refused to share details of the incident, stating that the case is still under investigation.
Accused brought in for questioning
Reports of a murder contract surfaced a day after two accused, Mahbub Alam Khan and Mujahid Alam Khan, were picked up from Bengaluru and brought in for questioning at the Nampally Police Station on Sunday, May 24.
The father-son duo has been accused of planning the advocate’s murder, according to Moizuddin’s son. He had accused the two of being “land grabbers” against whom his father had been fighting cases to protect Waqf properties.
