Hyderabad: At least 26 members of the Congress party, including the social media managers, on Thursday, April 2, joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in the presence T Harish Rao in Hyderabad.
Mohammed Arif, the Congress’s social media coordinator from Bollaram in the Patancheru constituency, is one of the leaders who joined the BRS. After welcoming the new joinees, Rao asked them to expose the Congress party.
“In the current political landscape, it is essential to be extremely active on social media platforms to stay constantly updated and relevant,” the Siddipet MLA said.
He said that presently, social media plays a pivotal role in bringing public issues to light, starting from the village level all the way up to the state level.
He accused the Congress of betraying the people of Telangana, particularly the youth, and criticised the party for not fulfilling its promises after coming to power.
“There is no ‘Job Calendar’ in sight, nor has there been any creation of new employment opportunities. Their promise of providing two lakh jobs has been exposed as completely bogus,” Rao said.
The former Telangana finance minister also accused the government of failing to pay the promised monthly allowance of Rs 2,500 to one crore women, and to honour its pledges to the farming community.
He alleged that there is intense public resentment regarding the conduct of the Telangana government.
Addressing the new joinees, Rao said, “Young people like you, who are active on social media, must step forward and consistently expose the government’s failures.”
