Hyderabad: DNA proof against rape case accused police Inspector

Hyderabad: Rachakonda police on Monday submitted DNA (forensic report) against K Nageswara Rao, a former Inspector of Police Marredpally police station who is accused of raping a woman, at Ranga Reddy courts.

Strongly opossing the second bail petition filed by the suspended cop, Ganga Reddy, Additional Public Prosecutor informed court that “DNA report has come from the Forensic Lab and it clearly shows that the semen DNA and the DNA of accused is a match and hence it is beyond reasonable doubt that the accused committed the rape”.

The prosecution also contended that the suspended Inspector Nageshwar Rao, is not an ordinary person. He understands the workings of the system and being in the Police Force instead of protecting people he became a predator.

The Accused has earlier threatened panch witnesses while scene reconstruction was being done and hence, he has no fear and can harm witnesses. The accused cop has also through his friends got CCTV at his home removed and hence has the capability to make evidence disappear. The Victim and her husband sought police protection through Writ Petition filed before High Court and since they apprehend serious threat from the accused.

Some more investigation is pending and the bail petition may be dismissed.

Meanwhile, Surender Rao counsel for accused pleaded that Nageswar Rao is an honest Police officer who had filed cases against a politician while in Task Force as an Inspector and another national level Politician when he was inspector of Banjara Hills Police Station

Upon hearing the arguments , the court reserved judgement for orders and posted the matter to September 7.
