Hyderabad Desk

Hyderabad: Numaish which is the popular annual exhibition event in Hyderabad is scheduled to begin on January 1. It will continue till February 15.

As the work began a month before the scheduled numaish, it is expected that all the arrangements will be completed by December 15.

The exhibition which will continue for one and a half months will feature hundreds of stalls. It will also have a wheelchair facility and vehicle-friendly walkways.

Entry fee, timing of the numaish

As COVID cases in Telangana have dropped to a single digit, it is expected that numaish will see the regular footfall of about 20 lakh people.

The timing of annual exhibition will be 4 pm to 10:30 pm. On the weekends and public holidays, its duration will exceed by half an hour.

For adults, the entry fee of the numaish has increased to Rs. 40 whereas, for children below the age of five years, it will be free.

Following fire prevention norms, the number of stalls at the numaish has been brought down to provide more space for emergency vehicles.

Numaish saw drop in footfall in last four years

The annual exhibition incurred huge losses first due to a fire accident that took place in 2019 and then after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2022, numaish was canceled on January 2, after its inauguration on January 1, owing to the looming threat posed by the Omicron and Delta variants of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Later, the All India Industrial Exhibition Society held the annual exhibition with a month’s delay.

However, the footfall at the event was low as the event coincided with Ramadan month.
