Hyderabad: Rashtrapati Nilayam, situated at Bolarum, Secunderabad, is hosting ‘Bharatiya Kala Mahotsav’, an 8-day-long cultural event, celebrating the heritage of North-Eastern states of India. The event was inaugurated by Indian President Droupati Murmu, on September 29, and will be concluding on October 6.
The open-to-all event offers Hyderabad citizens a unique opportunity to experience the cultural heritage and food scenes of the eight North-Eastern states in India, namely Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura.
The event has been organised by the Rashtrapati Nilayam, Hyderabad, in association with the ministry of development of the North-East region and the ministry of culture.
Entry to the event is free, but visitors have to book their free tickets by scanning the festival’s QR code or through popular booking sites BookMyShow or insider.com. Entry gates will be open at 10 am and will be closed at 8 pm during the festival days.
The event offers opportunities to try authentic North-East food, experience vivid art forms, and shop exquisite handicrafts made by artisans from the region. The festival provides Hyderabad, a chance to understand and learn the cultural uniqueness of each state in the region and identify the products which are unique to each state.

The event constitutes a GI pavilion and a Natural Dye pavilion, detailing the products that are unique to the region.
