Hyderabad: Owaisi declares immovable assets worth over Rs 16 cr

Hyderabad: AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has declared immovable assets worth over Rs 16 crore, according to his election affidavit.

Owaisi has five criminal cases pending against him, and he has declared his profession as a ‘politician’ and his spouse’s as a ‘homemaker’. He declared his source of income as “salary from Lok Sabha.”

The Hyderabad MP residing in Shastripuram, Rangareddy district, submitted his nomination at the Hyderabad District Collectorate on Friday, April 19, revealing movable assets worth approximately Rs 2.80 crore and his spouse’s moveable assets amounting to Rs 15.71 lakh. Furthermore, his spouse possesses immovable assets valued at Rs 4.90 crore.

Owaisi and his spouse collectively own a house in Shastripuram and the MP also has another house in his name in Misrigunj.

The AIMIM chief has declared liabilities of around Rs 4.3 crore, while his spouse has declared liabilities of Rs 2.75 crore.

The legal proceedings against him are ongoing in several lower courts, including those in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, Bihar, and Maharashtra. He owns two licensed firearms, a .22 caliber pistol and a 30-60 rifle, with a combined value of approximately Rs 2 lakh.
