Hyderabad: Students of Anwar-ul-Uloom college at Mallepally on Wednesday staged a protest against hijab restrictions in a government pre-university college in Udupi in Karnataka.
The students suddenly protested outside in the premises of the college. The gathering comprised 50 students, including women, who were wearing hijabs.
Carrying placards the protesting students shouted slogans ‘We want justice, , will fight hate” and “In solidarity with the students of Karnataka”, they raised their voice against the row which has erupted in the southern state.
Mild tension had prevailed at the college against hijab controversy forcing the Habeeb Nagar police to rush at the protest site.
