Hyderabad: Unmarried woman teacher elopes with teen, traced

Hyderabad: A 27-year-old Hyderabad woman teacher recently eloped with a 16-year-old boy who was her student. On February 27, both the teacher and the class X student were finally tracked down by the Gachibowli police.

As per a media report, during a counseling session conducted on Saturday, the teacher admitted to being in love with the minor.

When the teacher revealed that she eloped with the boy because her family was pressuring her to marry someone else, cops informed her that the boy is a minor and warned her that she could face kidnapping charges if she continued to be with him.

Hyderabad woman teacher, teen eloped last month

As per the details, the teacher left her home in Chandanagar on February 16. On the day, she left for school but did not return home in the evening and her phone was switched off.

After waiting for a day, her family lodged a police complaint on February 17.

While the police were investigating her missing complaint, the teen from the same school went missing and his parents alleged that the teacher might have taken him with her.

Based on the complaint lodged by the teen’s parents, police registered a kidnap case against the teacher and started investigation.

During the investigation, it was found that the teen and teacher had taken a train to Bengaluru. It was also found that the two had come close over the past few months.

Though the woman teacher and teen tried to remain untraceable by staying in different hotels in Hyderabad and Bengaluru, police officials managed to locate them together.

After a brief counseling session that was conducted yesterday, the police let her go.
