Hyderabad: As more and more tenants are relying on websites to search for rented apartments, the demand for brokers seems to have taken a backseat in the recent times.
Those looking for a rented apartments, are more reliant on websites, relatives or just go out to search for themselves. Cashing-in on the opportunity, a number of real estate websites have improvised their content in order to become accessible and provide hassle-free solutions to the tenants.
According to a report by No-broker.com, only five percent of tenants are reliant on brokerage services, while 30% of people depend on friends and relatives, and 35% of people are looking for “to-let” boards. Pandemic induced lockdowns seem to have rendered brokers redundant. Cities such as Hyderabad and Chennai are now solely functioning on real state websites.
The report further states that Delhi NCR, Chennai and Bangalore have witnessed the highest number of registrations on real estate websites. The availability of brokerage free properties, has been a major factor effecting the shift. Other factors include renting a bigger house at a lower price in a different locality, water supply, and proximity to public transport.
