Hyderabad: Woman washed away in Musi River, body recovered

Hyderabad: The incessant rains have once again taken a toll as a woman who was washed away in the Musi river was found dead.

On Wednesday morning, a GHMC staff member who was clearing trash near Moosarambagh bridge found the woman’s body.

Immediately, the local Amberpet police were alerted, and the DRF teams of GHMC reached the spot.

During the preliminary investigation, the police identified the woman as Lakshmi, who reportedly went missing four days ago.

The police suspect that the woman was washed away in the Musi River during the torrential rains across the city.

The police have shifted the dead body to Osmania General Hospital for a postmortem examination.

In another case, a four-year-old boy, Mithun Reddy, was washed away in a nala at Pragati Nagar in Bachupally on Tuesday.

Amidst the rains, the authorities have closed Moosarambagh bridge for traffic.
