Impact of lockdown: One lakh construction workers leave Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Telangana and the subsequent lockdown imposed in the state, many construction workers left jobless.

Nearly 40 percent of the construction workers hail from the North Indian States. As many of them had left Hyderabad, the construction activities have come to a halt once again. Around one lakh construction workers have already left Hyderabad.

Most of the migrant workers in the state belong to Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
