New road over bridge opens in Hyderabad to ease traffic

Hyderabad: In order to improve connectivity between Mailardevpally and the Falaknuma RTC Depot via Shastripuram, a new Road Over Bridge (ROB) has been opened on the Secunderabad–Falaknuma–Shivarampally railway line in Hyderabad.

The bridge was inaugurated by the Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu.

Features of the new bridge

The bridge is a four-lane structure with a total length of 490 metres and a width of 16.6 metres.

The railway span of the bridge measures 37.28 metres. It has been constructed at a cost of Rs 71 crore under EPC mode.

It is expected that the new ROB will reduce travel time by around 30 minutes as it connects key locations.

In addition, the project is likely to reduce fuel consumption and lower vehicle emissions.

The inauguration event was attended by several officials and public representatives including Patnam Mahender Reddy and RV Karnan along with other government officials.
