Hyderabad: A Nigerian woman was arrested by the Drugs Task Force (DTF) in Secunderabad on Friday, April 3, after she was caught carrying 7.5 gram of cocaine, worth approximately Rs 2.35 lakh, which she had brought from Mumbai, the police said.
The accused, identified as James Tesling Yamyunal, was intercepted near Sunshine Hospital in the Paradise area of Secunderabad after the DTF received a tip-off that a Nigerian national was travelling from Mumbai to Hyderabad with drugs.
The police laid a trap and apprehended the accused as she arrived in the area by auto-rickshaw from Mumbai. The cocaine, divided into five packets, was recovered from her possession.
Interrogation revealed that the accused had procured the cocaine in Mumbai at Rs 15,000 per gram and was planning to sell it in Hyderabad at Rs 30,000 per gram, double the purchase price.
The accused was handed over to the Secunderabad Excise Station for further proceedings.

Man held with over a kg of cannabis sourced from Nanded
In a separate case, a man was arrested in the Asmatpet area of Balanagar on Friday after the Rangareddy Enforcement team seized 1.104 kg of cannabis from his possession, the police said.
The accused, identified as Sai Harish, was caught selling cannabis in the locality by the police. Preliminary investigation indicated that the contraband had been sourced from Nanded in Maharashtra.
The accused and the seized cannabis were handed over to the Balanagar Excise Station for further proceedings.
