Secunderabad: RPF recovered Rs 1.4 cr worth of property since Jan 2023

Hyderabad: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) police since January 2023 recovered lost property worth Rs. 1.40 crores and handed it over to passengers as part of its ‘Operation Amanat’ program.

Debashmita Chattopadhyay Banerjee, the Senior Divisional Security Commissioner Secunderabad said the property includes laptops, purses, luggage bags, and mobile phones total worth Rs. 1.40 crores with an increase of 3.7 percent in value of passenger belongings compared to the corresponding month of the previous year.

During 2022, on 1039 occasions, passenger luggage/valuables were retrieved and restored to the owners and the total worth of the property was Rs.2.28 crores.

The official further said the RPF personnel are always at the forefront and keep round-the-clock vigil in safeguarding not only railway property but also play a vital role in securing stolen or luggage lost by passengers and handing it over to the concerned passengers.
