Telangana CM reviews arrangements for Miss World 2025 pageant in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy ordered the police officials to tighten the security in the hotels where foreign guests would be staying during the 72nd Miss World 2025 pageant scheduled to be held in Hyderabad from May 10 to 31.

He told the police to have elaborate security arrangements around the Gachibowli stadium, Charminar, Lad Bazaar, Chowmahalla Palace and the Secretariat.

He held a high-level review meeting at the Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) along with officials and ministers on the arrangements for the Miss World 2025 pageant on Monday, May 5.

The chief minister emphasized that the Miss World 2025 pageant should be held in a dignified manner, so that the image of Telangana draws the world’s attention. In view of young women from 116 countries participating in the competition, he instructed the authorities to show great hospitality to the guests coming from all over the world without any shortcomings.

In view of nearly 3,000 media representatives from India and abroad expected to cover the mega beauty contest, the chief minister suggested the officials to accord them a warm welcome by showcasing Telangana’s culture and traditions.

“All the departments, including the tourism department, should work in coordination with all officials to carry out the responsibilities assigned to them efficiently,” the chief minister said, also directing the officials to appoint a nodal officer for each of the programmes scheduled as part of the event.

He said that necessary transport and other facilities needed be provided to the Miss World contestants who would visit famous tourist places like the Charminar, Laad Bazaar, Telangana Thalli statue in the Secretariat and many other tourist places in the state .

Along with the security arrangements, he asked the officials to formulate alternative plans to overcome any unexpected and undesirable situations that could arise. In addition to the contestants’ visit to the DWCRA Bazaar being run by Indira Kranthi Padham’s (IKP) women’s self-help groups, he said arrangements needed to be made for them to watch the IPL semi-finals at the Uppal stadium.

Revanth Reddy stressed that precautions needed to be taken to prevent traffic congestion and power outages in the areas where the Miss World events would be held.

The chief minister suggested that arrangements needed to be made in accordance with the weather forecast, and that the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Hyderabad disaster Response Assets monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) have to be on high alert, to ensure that no problems arise even if strong winds and rains lashed the city.

The chief minister asked the officials to invite the public representatives as well as celebrities from various fields to the inauguration ceremony of the Miss World 2025 pageant on behalf of the government.

He also said that the students from the government-run BC, SC, ST and minority welfare residential schools, model schools, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBV) should also get an opportunity to witness the Miss World pageant for a day.

The chief minister said that arches and hoardings should be beautifully decorated throughout Hyderabad during the entire Miss world 2025 pageant, to create the buzz around the event.
