Hyderabad: The massive success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has brought renewed attention to the real-life story of Karachi police officer Chaudhry Aslam. His wife, Naureen Aslam, has now opened up about how the film portrays her husband and Sanjay Dutt’s performance.
In a recent podcast with Aaj Tak Radio, Naureen praised the actor, calling his performance strikingly accurate. “When he stands near the car and raises his eyes, for a moment it felt like Aslam himself,” she said.
She also shared that her husband had often said a film would be made about his life after his death, making the experience deeply emotional for her.
Naureen revealed that certain parts of the film, especially the sequence showing his death, closely match reality.
“The way they have shown it… that is exactly what happened,” she said.
Recalling the day of the attack, she added, “I tried to stop him because he didn’t have a bomb-proof vehicle, but he reassured me. He said, ‘Forgive me, I could never give you time’.”
She explained that moments after he left, a massive blast occurred, and she instinctively knew something was wrong even before receiving official confirmation.

“They could have at least called me”
While appreciating Sanjay Dutt’s performance, Naureen expressed disappointment with the film’s overall depiction of her husband’s life.
“If they were making a film, they could have at least called me, the police, or journalists to understand both his positive and negative sides,” she said.
She also pointed out inaccuracies in certain scenes, particularly those involving fake encounters and harm to innocents, stating that these did not reflect reality. According to her, the film failed to capture the full depth and complexity of Chaudhry Aslam’s character.
Naureen described her husband as a fearless and dedicated officer whose work gained recognition beyond Pakistan. His commitment to duty and bravery made him a powerful figure in the fight against crime.
