Mumbai: In recent times, many Bollywood stars have been showing strong interest in working with South Indian directors. While some of these collaborations have turned into massive blockbusters, others have not performed as expected.
Now, Salman Khan is once again teaming up with a South director. After previously working with AR Murugadoss, Salman has given the green signal to a new film with Telugu director Vamshi Paidipally. The film is being produced by Dil Raju on a grand scale.
Salman Khan’s unique deal
Interestingly, Salman Khan is not taking a regular remuneration for this project. Instead, he is said to be partnering in the film and will earn through profit share. This means his earnings will depend on the film’s performance at the box office.
Huge budget and Nayanthara’s fees
Even without Salman’s salary, the film is being mounted on a massive budget. Reports suggest that a lot of money is being spent on casting top actors and technicians.
Nayanthara has been selected as the female lead. Known for her strong screen presence, she is said to have been offered over Rs 10 crore as remuneration. Though there is no official confirmation yet, this has already created buzz.
Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor is also said to be part of the film. Given his popularity and experience, his role is expected to be significant. Tamil actor Arvind Swamy has also joined the cast.
Total production cost is likely to range between Rs 150 to Rs 200 crore.
Vamshi Paidipally’s strategy
Director Vamshi Paidipally is known for taking time between films, but once a project begins, he usually completes it quickly. His films are often considered safe from a commercial point of view, even if they perform moderately.
However, this time, he seems to be aiming much bigger than before. Mounting such a large-scale project with Salman Khan shows his confidence in the script.
Salman Khan to bounce back?
Despite Salman Khan facing ups and downs at the box office in recent years, this project is being seen as a high-risk, high-reward venture. With a strong cast, big budget, and a successful producer backing it, expectations are already high.
