Hyderabad: Bandla Ganesh, who has gained popularity with his performances as an actor, producer, and politician, has faced a significant setback. Ongole District Court in Andhra Pradesh has sentenced him to a year in prison and to pay a fine in a case of cheque bounce, reports said.
Bandla Ganesh, who is now an active member of the Telangana Congress party, reportedly borrowed Rs 95 lakhs from the family of Jetty Venkateswarulu, a resident of Muppalla village. In place of this, he issued a post-dated cheque for the same amount. However, unfortunately, the cheque was not valid, leading to a legal dispute.
Bandla Ganesh’s plea was dismissed by the District Court of Ongole, which ordered him to pay Jetty Venkateshwarulu Rs. 95 lakhs within a month along with court and legal costs.
Bandla Ganesh, who produced popular films like Temper and Gabbar Singh, has faced multiple legal cases over the years. His reputation suffered due to broken promises and strained relationships with Tollywood heroes and directors.
