Hyderabad: Strength doesn’t always roar. Sometimes, it quietly shows up every single day. Indian tennis icon Sania Mirza has once again captured hearts online, this time not with a powerful forehand, but with a deeply emotional message that reflects resilience, vulnerability, and healing. Her latest Instagram story, now going viral, offers a rare glimpse into her inner world as she navigates life after separation.
Sania Mirza, one of India’s most celebrated tennis stars, has been focusing on her professional commitments while embracing her role as a dedicated mother to her son, Izhaan Mirza Malik. Known for her fierce presence on the court, Sania has been going through a challenging phase in her personal life following her separation from former husband Shoaib Malik, the Pakistani cricketer.
Despite the emotional upheaval, Sania has drawn strength from her close circle of friends, family, and loyal fans who continue to support her. She has largely maintained a dignified silence regarding her personal life, especially after her separation. However, in recent times, she has begun sharing subtle yet powerful reflections through her social media, offering a window into her journey of healing and self-discovery.
In her latest Instagram story, Sania shared a poignant message that read: “Some days she is a warrior. Some days she’s a broken mess. Most days, she’s a bit of both. But every day, she’s there. Standing, fighting, trying. She is me.”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time she has posted these words. She had earlier shared the same message in February 2024, shortly after Shoaib Malik announced his Nikah with Pakistani actress Sana Javed.
Sania Mirza opens up about motherhood, difficult conversations
In a rare and honest revelation, Sania recently spoke about one of the most challenging aspects of her separation which was explaining it to her young son, Izhaan. She shared that she sought guidance from a child psychologist to handle the situation sensitively.
“Personally, when I went through a difficult time in my life, I was consulting a child psychologist about how to bring it up with Izhaan because he was young,” she said.
The advice she received left a lasting impact. “The only advice that actually stuck with me was that he should not find out anything from outside. You have to tell him yourself honestly, and it should be normalized for him. He should not feel like a freak,” she added, highlighting the importance of honesty and emotional security for children.
Sania Mirza and Shoaib Malik ended their 14-year marriage in January 2024 after months of speculation. Their son, Izhaan, born in October 2018, currently lives with Sania in Dubai.
